Electrician Journey Job at Pueblo County, CO
Position Summary
Performs journey-level preventative electrical maintenance, repair, replace and installation of electrical circuits/systems. Also responsible for analyzing problems, estimating costs and planning projects.

What You Will Do
- Performs inspections, maintenance and repairs of electrical systems.
- Operates a variety of technical test equipment, such as DC high voltage tester, multi-channel analog recorder, electronic meters and vibration test equipment.
- Inspects and ensures that all lights, fixtures, ballast and wiring, breaker boxes and electrical switches and controls are in working order; make any necessary repairs.
- Performs detailed electrical work on construction and remodeling projects, such as installing conduit, electrical boxes, motors, receptacles, switches, light fixtures and pulling cables.
- Performs electrical demolition work, involving removing old wire and electrical equipment.
- Removes ice and snow from all County property.
- Subject to callback in emergencies.
- Subject to on-call rotation.
- Makes recommendations regarding replacement of systems.
- Estimates time and material for projects and keeps records of cost involved.
- Conducts preventative maintenance/safety inspections.
- Trains and supervises other employees as assigned; including reviewing work for accuracy and completion.
- Assists with projects in other trades, such as HVAC or Maintenance Mechanic.
- Performs other duties as appropriate or necessary for performance of the job.
What You Have
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalency required.
- Experience: Minimum of four years of experience as an Electrician required.
- Licenses and/or Certificates: Valid driver’s license at the time of application and a valid Colorado driver’s license at time of hire required.
- State of Colorado Electrician’s License required.
- Special Requirements: Must successfully pass background check.
