Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance Technician Job at Holmen Cheese LLC

What we are looking for:
- 3+ years of Electrical/Mechanical System Maintenance & Troubleshooting Experience
- Troubleshooting low voltage and controls systems
- PLC and VFD troubleshooting, program editing, and some light programming
- Mechanical/electrical components including shafts, bearings, gear boxes, pumps, motors, drives, 3 phase power
- Strong background in conveyor systems
- Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensures safe operations through adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and procedures.
2. Strict adherence to housekeeping, clean work areas upon completing a project and plant GMPs.
3. Provide maintenance support to all stations effectively and efficiently.
4. Ensures operation of plant equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
5. Perform predictive maintenance on mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
6. Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Remove defective parts by dismantling equipment; using hand and power tools, and cranes and hoists when necessary.
7. Function as an engaged team member and contribute to the site's continuous improvement efforts.
8. Able to effectively and safely operate standard maintenance tools such as power tools, basic hand tools, and basic electrical test meters.
9. Perform pneumatic, hydraulic system troubleshooting, and repairs.
10. Effectively pass-down to next shift personnel, unfinished repairs and unresolved maintenance/production issues.
11. Communicate with the production supervisor and plant manager on product runs, equipment problems, packaging issues, and potential down time.
12. Maintain positive working relationships with supervisor and co-workers.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
Understand and follow written and oral instructions in the English language.
- Knowledge of Occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions applicable to mechanical maintenance and repair work, including lockout procedures and confined space entry procedures.
- Ability to work with little to no supervision.
- Must have proven working knowledge of electrical/mechanical skills and have operational knowledge of basic tools and equipment.
- PLC experience and confidence required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
