Position Description:

Plasser American Corporation is a part of the Plasser & Theurer group with 18 locations around the world and customers in more than 130 countries. We are currently seeking a hands-on automation and controls electrical engineer designing and troubleshooting highly complex maintenance of way equipment (railroad track maintenance machinery). Responsibilities will include a 50-50 split between the office environment and the factory floor. The factory and office are co-located, so minimal travel is required.

Requirements:

• 5-10 years’ experience with:
  • automation or electrical controls systems.
  • Programmable Logic Controllers.
  • Industrial network systems.
• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Ability and desire to be hands-on.
• Must be willing to spend time on the machines wiring, troubleshooting, assisting the installation team, wiring control panels in on site factory.
• Experience with 24VDC control systems.
• Working knowledge of NFPA70 (National Electrical Code).
• Fluently read and interpret electrical schematics.

Preferred Skills:

• A proven track record of working safely around industrial equipment
• EPLAN software.
• AutoCAD software.
• Any PLC programming software.
• Danfoss PLC Systems
• CAN bus networks
• 3 phase motors and generator systems.
• 208V/480V power systems
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
