The Opportunity:

Your role at Sephora:

As an eLearning Developer, you will be responsible for the development of custom, innovative and engaging online training content for Sephora employees based in store. Reporting to the Manager, eLearning Development, you will incorporate mixed media and sound instructional design/development methodologies. In addition, you will:


  • Coordinate, manage and execute all necessary aspects of eLearning development and maintain an advanced understanding of trends and best practices
  • Create custom eLearnings and storyline blocks in collaboration with the Creative Production team
  • Collaborate with Instructional Designers to storyboard module based on SME input
  • Research, organize and create content in logical eLearning sequences for maximum learner retention
  • Collaborate with Multimedia Developers and Interactive Graphic Designers to leverage graphics and animations as needed to elevate the learning experience
  • Create custom graphics and animations as needed to elevate the learning experience
  • Ensure training content adheres to audio/visual technical specifications for mobile and desktop learning, as well as brand guidelines and industry best practices
  • Thoroughly test, debug and troubleshoot across multiple devices and browsers
  • Design and build module while incorporating stakeholder feedback


We’re excited about you if you have:

  • 3 - 5 years instructional design experience focused on eLearning and/or multimedia development
  • Combination of creative design skills and technical knowledge; experience with graphic design, video, micro-learning, responsive design, gamification, simulations, animation/motion graphics preferred
  • Proficiency with various eLearning tools (i.e. Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia etc.) and solid knowledge of responsive design and advanced actions, audio editing program (i.e. Audacity), and Learning Management Systems
  • Intermediate to advanced skill in Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, HTML5 and CSS and strong knowledge of effective Instructional Design, using either ADDIE or SAM methodology
  • Ability to conduct sound research, bring innovation to the team, independently troubleshoot/solve multi-faceted instructional technology issues
  • Experience designing for a millennial audience with stimulating ideas – not your “traditional” eLearning design
  • Strong project management skills that are demonstrated by timely task completion and quality of deliverables
  • Flexible, upbeat and energetic attitude – self-starter with the ability to quickly build strong partnerships, effectively communicate needs and challenges
  • Highly collaborative and open to multiple perspectives, work both independently and collaboratively to achieve outcomes
  • Retail and cosmetics experience are a plus #LI-AZ1

The annual base salary range for this position is $104,000.00 - $116,000.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
