La Porte School District is excited to announce an immediate job opening for the position of Educational Diagnostician. We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to join our dynamic team of educators. As an Educational Diagnostician, you will play a critical role in evaluating and identifying the educational needs of our diverse student population.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to determine students' academic abilities, learning styles, and potential learning disabilities.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students' specific needs.
- Provide recommendations for appropriate instructional strategies, accommodations, and support services to ensure academic success and inclusion for all students.
- Monitor student progress, implement interventions, and make data-driven decisions to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support the implementation of special education programs and services.
- Stay up to date with current research, best practices, and legal requirements in the field of special education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid certification as an Educational Diagnostician or eligibility to obtain certification in the state of Indiana.
- Experience in conducting assessments and evaluations, preferably in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and a multidisciplinary team.
- Attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
