    Position: Educational Equity Specialist

    Work Schedule: 12-months/Year, Full-time

    Start Date: ASAP

    Pay: $50,000 to $75,000 dependent on qualifications

    Support the Office of Educational Equity by assisting in the planning, implementation and ongoing evaluation of quality programs, processes, and activities. Collaborate with staff by providing on-site support developing programs and problem-solving. Provide opportunities, resources and tools for implementing comprehensive professional staff development related to the programs in the Office of Educational Equity. Help create an environment that supports integrated learning in culturally appropriate ways with the focus on equity and inclusion. Encourage and mobilize community resources to be an integral part of our collaborative process.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree and or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience to total 4 years
    • Inter-cultural competency with excellent human relation skills and experience working with diverse populations, community organizations and other advocacy groups
    • Past experience working in an educational setting with demonstrable involvement with program effectiveness by evaluating and making recommendations for improvement
    • Ability to facilitate workshops and seminars
    • Ability to organize, handle a variety of tasks, manage details of a variety of projects
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills with parents, teachers, staff, and other professionals
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, exercise mature judgment, and build rapport with students, families, district staff, community members and the state department
    • Experience collaborating with students, families, and colleagues from a variety of ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds
    • Flexibility to work with multiple school districts with occasional adjustments to work schedule
    • Proficiency with computer technology skills

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Teaching, administrative, or counseling licensure
    • Multi-lingual

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Provide professional learning to a variety of stakeholder such as district leadership, staff and community members around equity and integration;
    • Develop relationships with building staff, students and parents to collect data to recommend new programs and/or activities and promote current collaborative initiatives;
    • Implement policies and procedures and assist in the development and administration of improvement plans that are consistent with program goals;
    • Provide on-site support for restorative practices and/or perform duties as assigned by the ISD 622 Educational Equity Lead;
    • Collaborate with equity personnel in each school district;
    • Support the coordination of logistics for programs within the Office of Educational Equity;
    • Provide training and facilitating student leadership development and action related to educational equity, including the cross district Youth Leadership Council;
    • Assist summer programs to provide necessary resources such as equipment and curriculum, and space;
    • Foster relationships with district leaders, staff, and community in each of the member districts;
    • Monitor the program budget in partnership with the ISD 622 Educational Equity Lead;
    • Partner with other offices in the district to develop integration activities focusing on equity and inclusion;
    • Engage in ongoing personal and professional learning in order to develop and maintain knowledge in field;
    • Other duties as assigned.
