ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Limited Energy/Life Safety Estimator is responsible for preparing complete limited energy electrical estimates of commercial, healthcare, mission critical, gaming, multi-family housing and light industrial projects including all quotations and subcontractors required for the project. A high degree of accuracy, communication, and attention to detail is required.
- Accurately estimate labor, materials, and administrative costs for assigned projects.
- Interface with designers, project managers, general foreman and others to resolve issues throughout the project.
- Accurately interpret the design drawings submitted by engineers.
- Utilize estimating software to properly estimate project.
- Seek quotation of materials and subcontracts.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) year degree in electrical construction, electrical design for construction or similar preferred.
- 2+ years electrical estimating experience in the large commercial market, or related field experience.
- Experience with conceptual estimating, low voltage systems estimating, design/build estimating preferred.
- Strong computerized estimating skills using Accubid, Esticom, or another software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe/Bluebeam.
- Competent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management skills.
- Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers, and fax machines.
- Employees are frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl.
- This position requires the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
- This position may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
