Schedule: Full Time

Shift: 830am to 5pm (occasional evenings)

The role you’ll contribute:

OurLegacy is designated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as the only organ procurement organization (OPO) in east central Florida and is accredited by the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) as a tissue recovery agency. OurLegacy's scope of operations extends to each of the following hospitals within the AdventHealth's Hospital system: Altamonte, Apopka, Celebration, Daytona Beach, Deland, East Orlando, Fish Memorial, Kissimmee, New Smyrna Beach, Orlando, Palm Coast, Waterman and Winter Park. Additionally, CMS has designated OurLegacy to provide organ and tissue donation services to all non-AdventHealth acute care and critical access hospitals and free-standing emergency rooms in the following counties: Brevard, Flagler, Indian River, Lake, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter and Volusia.

  • Creates and maintains positive working relationships with hospital staff, including leadership and medical, support and clinical staff.
  • Collaborates with hospital partners in the development and implementation of annual strategic plans; tracks and reports on progress.
  • Keeps hospital profiles within iTransplant current; includes donation policies, identification of hospital champions and list of key contacts.
  • Performs medical record reviews in assigned hospitals and regularly shares results with hospital partners; addresses any significant findings of lost potential organ donors.
  • Works closely with the clinical services staff on all referrals and donors to continuously evaluate for quality assurance purposes; includes critical care unit rounding and reporting.
  • Conducts educational programs for day and night shift staff based on appropriate needs analysis.
  • Maintains accurate records of all hospital visits and pertinent communications in database. Documents a weekly presence in high potential facilities through records.
  • Serves as liaison to donation teams to ensure monitoring and implementation of quality improvement initiatives; provides documentation of team meetings and activities.
  • Partners with marketing and public relations staff in assigned facilities to coordinate awareness events and registry drives to increase the number of registered donors.
Qualifications


The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communication, middle grade education, biology, life sciences or health-related field OR Four (4) years of Nursing experience
  • Three (3) years of work experience in business, middle school education or healthcare

PREFERRED:

  • Previous hospital development or work experience within an Organ Procurement Organization
  • Previous public relations/marketing experience, preferably within a healthcare organization

LICENSURE REQUIRED:

  • Driver's License
