WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER


The Donor Engagement Manager will design and implement strategies for cultivating new donors and stewarding current donors through consistent and compelling outreach and curated event and field experiences such as hikes, kayak trips, cocktail parties, virtual events, and multi-day excursions that connect donors and prospects to TNC’s mission and Georgia priorities, deepen their engagement with the organization and inspire new, continued or increased philanthropic support. Engagements will take place from the coast to the mountains; occasional overnight and day travel will be required.

Responsibilities:

Donor Stewardship

  • Assist the out-the-door fundraisers with developing compelling and meaningful donor stewardship opportunities: custom events, gift procurement, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to create and project manage donor-focused publications: monthly Georgia Insider update, quarterly donor updates, and Nature Magazine inserts
  • Contribute to the ambitious organizational goal of expanding the major gift donor pipeline

Event Planning and Management

  • Plan and manage (in conjunction with staff) an annual calendar of events that complement and achieve fundraising and donor engagement goal
  • Collaborate with Conservation and Marketing staff on public programs and events
  • Event management duties include, but are not limited to, event planning and budgeting; engaging vendors; obtaining permits; contract management; producing event-related materials (invitations, signage, handouts, pre-and-post-event communications); recruiting and coordinating volunteers; guest list management

The Donor Engagement Manager must be experienced in event planning, project management, and relationship building. They will become an expert user of our fundraising systems, including our Blackbaud donor database, nature.org web platform Engaging Networks, MailChimp, YouTube, and Canva/PowerPoint. They will manage guidelines, follow policies and procedures, and track, analyze, and report on engagement data and metrics to achieve results. They will stay current on market trends and best practices and provide advice, recommendations, and training related to events and engagement to colleagues. The Donor Engagement Manager works closely with any or all of the following: TNC staff, donors, trustees, partners, vendors, and marketing, legal and accounting professionals.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Strong organization, planning, communications, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience planning in-person and virtual events for small and large audiences.
  • Experience managing and implementing multiple projects.
  • Experience working across departments and/or on cross-functional teams.
  • Experience negotiating agreements.
  • Experience with current and evolving technology in relevant field.
  • Experience, coursework, or other training in principles and practices of relevant field.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
  • Experience working with high-net-worth audiences and/or senior leaders.
  • Experience supervising staff, interns, and/or volunteers

Salary ranges will vary depending on the location of the selected candidate.
