Our Human Resources Department is looking for a Cultural Diverse individual to take on the role of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Manager. This employee is responsible for cultivating a supportive and inclusive work environment for all Agency employees, while reviewing company policies and hiring procedures and implementing inclusion programs and diversity initiatives. With knowledge of human rights legislation, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Manager will ensure the Agency provides equal opportunities to all candidates and employees regardless of their protected characteristics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Create, execute, and manage full-scale DE&I strategic and operational plans, changing business needs, and ensuring quality and best practice focused programs to support the achievement of goal outcomes.
Measure and forecast diversity metrics reports including data analysis and identification of opportunities and solutions.
Collaborate with the Administrative Management Team in the design of course content for presentations, communication, training, and learning modules.
Coordinate related internal and external surveys.
Responsible for staying current on issues and industry best practice to elevate outcomes.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations on diversity and equity.
Build trust and a positive rapport with employees and managers to provide support, coaching, and mentoring regarding diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.
Be familiar with the Agency population in order to address sensitive issues pertaining to the individuals we serve and facilitate a Diversity Task Force committee to address these concerns
Be familiar with the Fall River/Taunton community to collaborate within the region on DE&I efforts
Attend outside DE&I community events
Regularly visit program sites in order to build relationships with staff and receive feedback on Agency efforts.
Promote an environment of cultural awareness through identification and implementation of culturally-inclusive practices and innovations in line with DE&I strategies
Collaborate with the Human Resources team in designing and implementing talent management processes and systems to increase diversity of all Agency staff including assisting with the creation of bias-free job descriptions, postings, and searches that reach and help identify diverse candidates.
Assist in the development and delivery of meaningful and engaging trainings regarding civil rights, discrimination, harassment, and design that reinforce diversity.
Provide support and guidance in addressing and responding to specific incidents, including modeling inclusive communication, difficult conversations, and equitable discipline.
Facilitate an Agency DE&I committee to advance our commitment to promoting, building, and fostering an anti-racist, anti-biased, multicultural institution.
Increase community connections and public outreach through developing, coordinating, and implementing community activities and forums related to diversity.
Work with the Communications team to revise and update all communication on Agency website, social media pages, and internal documents to ensure non-discriminatory language.
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum five years of Human Resources or related experience required, with at least three years specializing in equal employment opportunity, affirmative action, and diversity programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including proven dispute resolution skills.
- Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local equal employment opportunity laws and regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point).
- A qualifying criminal background check, driving record, and a valid driver’s license required.
