- Deliver world class service to Lakeland Supply customers through leadership of logistics team.
- Overall responsibility for the distribution center operation, including picking, put away, bin transfers, purchase order receiving ,aisle maintenance , damages, ISO non-conforming documentation, scheduling daily deliveries, vendor pickups, warehouse cleanliness, employee performance, and offsite warehousing.
- Manages and leads Assistant DC Supervisor to ensure all material handlers objectives are met
- Manages direct reports (transportation coordinator, quality assurance auditor, delivery drivers ,Assistant DC Supervisor ) to achieve objectives, writes & delivers annual performance reviews
- Manages and leads indirect reports (material handlers)
- Oversees and manages all non-conforming product issues to resolution.
- Assigns daily work assignments to entire team, monitors workload to insure all tasks are completed
- Follows up promptly to all internal / external emails and voice mails from employees and vendors
- Trains new DC employees , certifies counter balance and reach truck employees
- Reviews daily forklift inspection reports, DOT delivery truck inspection forms and takes corrective actions
- Manages Dead Stock inventory program for disposition of dead stock products
- Completes a minimum of 2 full inventory cycle counts annually and resolves all issues
- Strives to achieve all annual DC bonus goals, teaming with senior management and team members
- Manages and approves all DC invoice expenses , such as: freight, truck leasing, fuel, repairs, and equipment accounts
- Plans strategic DC initiatives to reduce expense, improve productivity and customer service
- Researches and quotes annually , common carrier and small package carriers rates
