Pastries A-La Carte is a family-owned business that began in the family home and has grown to be featured in numerous famous and local establishments in and around the greater Pittsburgh area. As a member of our bakery team, you will work to deliver incredible service and will have the responsibility of the production, packaging, and sales of delicious baked goods like pastries, pies, cakes, cupcakes, danishes, cheesecakes, specialty cookies and more. You alongside your bakery team will be ensuring that the freshest products are always available for our customers!

What will I do?

Our fast-growing, high-end bakery is seeking a part-time dishwasher. As an integral part of the team, your primary focus will be maintaining the integrity of our quality through our sanitary environment. Ideal candidates will be able to work weekends and have a flexible schedule. Candidates must also be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and to be on your feet most of your shift.

At Pastries a la carte, the quality of art represented on our products is what we pride ourselves in and it’s what we are well known for throughout the Pittsburgh area- after all, we are the official bake shop for the Pittsburgh Penguins! Part of your job will be to help bridge the gap between our quality and our creations. An ideal candidate should find enjoyment in the work that they do as it allows you to be of service to others and find fulfillment in cleaning. We will need you to provide cleaning efficiency to a high standard with high integrity and dedication to maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bakery. You will help run our business by keeping a safe, clean and well-maintained stop for our customers.

Dishwasher

• Part Time.
• Cleaning and sanitizing duties where and as needed, operating and maintaining cleanliness of pan washers and rack washer.
• Disassembling and cleaning, sanitizing and reassembling all detachable production equipment.
• Applying various chemicals on different equipment, as well as in environmental locations.
• Organizing, cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen, preparation area, sales area, trash dock, and storage areas which will include maintaining the cleanliness of walls, floors, shelving, vents, doors, drains, and garbage cans.
• Operating, maintaining and transporting of racks, tubs, cardboard, and equipment that would include the floor scrubber.
• Transporting waste from production areas to disposal.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to follow directions and ask questions when you do not understand.
• Capability to stand for the duration of your shift working between both solo and team environments.
• Daily cleaning and sanitizing your workstation and equipment.
• Perform steady and productive work for an extended period of time
• Work efficiently with little or no supervision
• Remain productive in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating safe working habits.
• Push or pull heavy equipment with the ability to lift 30+ lbs.
• Work during holiday season and know extra hours are expected during the Holidays.
• Additional duties as required.
