See Yourself as a Director, Talent Development
The Director, Talent Development will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s Leadership and professional learning and development initiatives across the organization. This position will report into the People Experience segment of the People Team (HR) and is expected to partner with relevant company stakeholders to assess needs, develop, implement, and measure the success of programs, tools, and trainings. The successful candidate will play a significant role in defining and delivering content to employees, people managers, and executives at all levels. The incumbent is expected to collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders using problem solving and analytical skills in identifying and assessing talent development needs and designing and delivering educational content. This person will leverage the People Experience team to design, deliver, and coordinate Leadership/professional learning and development activities (classroom, blended, virtual learning, etc.).
See Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Implements programs that supports the company’s Talent Development vision, strategy, roadmap, and measurements, focusing on strengthening leadership capability/readiness, accelerating development at various organization levels, and embedding foundational leadership programs organization wide.
Assesses and analyzes the company’s leadership performance gaps and capability needs based on current and future strategic plans. Translates gaps into actions with new and/or updated developmental programs, tools, and training courses.
Facilitates strategic meetings to capture key data points for the development of leadership competencies, assessments, and determination of key leadership drivers.
Provides assessment of return on investment of development programs in consideration of the budget and business impact.
Partners with relevant HR teams (People Business Partners, HR Operations, Instructional Design) to determine the most effective development methodologies, mediums, and timing to use for various audiences.
Proactively researches and identifies opportunities to apply new thinking on Leadership Development to improve leader effectiveness. Stays abreast of learning field trends and best practices.
Integrates and embeds Diversity, Equity and Inclusion throughout the design, management, and implementation by partnering with Director of DE&I.
Conducts on-site and virtual facilitation and/or delivery of training programs as an instructor and oversees delivery of programs by other facilitators, as well as have a role of a moderator for virtual workshops, as needed.
Responsible for curating, developing, and organizing content in ways that are engaging and consumable by our workforce. (eLearning, podcasts, videos, job aids, quizzes) Establishes leadership effectiveness internal benchmarks, leveraging external data sources to qualify and quantify organization impact.
Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Education and Prior Work-Related Experience:
Degree Requirement: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
Work Experience: 8 or more years of prior work experience
Additional Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of leadership capabilities, learning modalities and effectiveness tools
Demonstrated ability to successfully facilitate individual or group sessions
Proven record of accomplishment of cross-functional collaboration, working directly with executive leaders
Position requires understanding of HR core functions, as well as working knowledge of human behavior and adult learning theories.
Possess superior written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated empathy, and attention to details. Multi-level communicator with demonstrated ability to deliver messages tailored by audience (written and verbal)
Demonstrated leadership presence and the ability to gain the trust of executive leadership, ability to build trusted partnerships with all levels of an organization
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Education Level: Master’s Degree
Other Qualifications, including any special skills, capabilities, and competencies:
Proficiency office productivity software and learning tools (i.e. Webinars, Coaching Tools)
Project-Management Skills: demonstrated experience of managing multiple projects at one time
Certifications in learning, assessments, and/or leadership development preferred. Adept at leadership assessments, coaching, and mentoring
