A food manufacturer in the food industry is looking for a self-motivated, energetic and outgoing person to join our team as the Director, QA/QC in our Los Angeles facility. Director, QA/QC will help ensure compliance with audits and the effective management of related regulatory paperwork. This position requires the ability to exhibit independence, flexibility and good judgment to respond to rapidly changing priorities.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:

· Implement, manage and evaluate activities related to the BRC, FSPCA, PCQI and HACCP.

· Ensure that all requirements are in place to comply with FDA requirements.

· Manage and implement the requirements for GMP certification and training

· Participate and prepare for all food safety audits.

· Ensure that all Quality System programs, processes and procedures are implemented successfully and function as designed throughout the operation in order to ensure the quality and integrity of manufactured products and services.

· Train the work force on GMP’s, BRC and HACCP.

· Conduct root cause analysis and corrective action reports on defective materials.

· Ensure consistent and thorough follow-up to non-conformities as it relates to quality food safety.

· Help maintain a root cause database and provide feedback to customers when required.

· Assess and suggest recommendations to improve the efficiency of the BRC and HACCP programs.

· Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • Preferred 8 - 10 years combined food safety, technical, manufacturing, and/or quality management experience preferably in a food production environment.
  • Must be able to present and train in Spanish.
  • Experience in creating GMP, PCQP, FSPCA, HACCP, BRC, and other quality programs.
  • Low Acid and Acidified Trained (A Must)
  • Working knowledge of FDA requirements
  • Working knowledge of GMP compliance required
  • The ability to utilize structured problem-solving methods to deliver results.
  • Experience working with QT9 system
  • Demonstrated competence to work and communicate effectively with all levels in the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, with willingness and ability to learn new systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Bilingual, English/Spanish a must.
