Director, Public Safety Partnerships Job at National University
Position Summary:
Under strategic leadership, creates and implements public safety and law enforcement partnership and employee enrollment campaigns that align with the University's strategic enrollment management plan. Leads systemic partnerships and prior learning assessment articulations with training agencies that guides recruitment; develops strategically cultivated relationships with prospective professional organizations, stakeholders, and communities.
Essential Functions:
- Identifies pathways and opportunities by interfacing with law enforcement and public safety city, county, and state training directors, senior leadership, chiefs, and captains.
- Drives continuous growth of public safety employees, their spouses, and dependents; maintains University’s commitment to access, diversity, and student success.
- Manages key relationships with state officials, professional association presidents and NUS trustees who assist with outreach.
- Establishes and implements innovative engagement opportunities to development academic pathways and communications channels that will increase enrollment at NUS.
- Preserves high level of external presence and serves on regional and statewide advisory boards and consortiums.
- Collaborates with the Office of the Registrar and faculty in formally articulating public safety prior learning assessment credit into select transfer pathways to NU.
- Establishes and implements data analysis system and dashboard for key performance indicators.
- Leads an expanded recruitment strategy reflecting outreach and relationship management with public safety organizations nationwide with emphasis in California and Nevada. Supports the strategy and recruitment for online and campus-based programs. Collaborates on marketing, recruiting, and outreach to prospective public safety students, their spouses, and dependents.
- Leads regional taskforce for public safety enrollment and strategy with associate VPs to identify opportunities in high potential regions and colleges.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position supervises staff. Direct reports may include but are not limited to: Public Safety Account Manager.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
- Typically requires 4-5 years of higher education related experience relating to the principles and practices of college/university outreach and business development.
- Background in law enforcement and public safety relationships, outreach and extensive experience focusing on business development.
Technical / Functional Skills:
- Dynamic speaking and strong writing skills to communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability in creative marketing and communications campaigns.
- Interpersonal qualities: a sense of urgency and engagement; strong leadership capabilities; demonstrated work-ethic and commitment to high-quality service; confidence and excitement about change; a personal presence that is active and inclusive; demonstrated skill to promote and enhance diversity.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage technology.
- Ability to produce plans and budgets as well as assess effectiveness of funds being employed.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to motivate and effectively manage a team, build upon the strengths of individuals, develop strategies, set clear expectations, and take corrective action, as needed.
- Proven ability to work with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion.
Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. Absent exceptional circumstances, candidates will be offered a salary within this range for this position. Compensation Range:
Annual Salary: $71,360.00 - $96,335.00
