DIRECTOR OF STRATEGIC PARTNERS
Listed in the Inc. 5000 for multiple consecutive years as the fastest-growing Talent Management platform in America, we are expanding our Channel Sales & Partnerships Team with a mission to expanding our partner ecosystem, optimizing partner engagement, and maximizing partnership revenue opportunities.
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You will join forces with our VP of Sales & Partnerships and work in a highly visible and collaborative environment across our Sales, Marketing, Product, Development, Customer Success, and Implementation teams.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
This is a hybrid “player-coach” role that has both direct supervisory responsibility and individual contributor elements. You will be responsible for a partner-focused engagement team (including yourself!) that is charged with expanding revenue growth from assigned partner(s).
WITHIN 1 MONTH, YOU'LL
- Complete initial sales training designed to get you up to speed on all aspects of the business. You'll learn about our business, product, vision, and team and gain an understanding of how your role fits into ClearCompany's broader organization.
- Dive into learning about the ClearCompany talent platform - including the benefits it delivers and how we position them. Shadow sales calls to learn more about the product and how we position it to potential customers.
- Complete your starter project: Evaluate our partner tiering system and make recommendations on criteria, metrics, and processes for engaging partners. Present your proposal at the end of your second week to your Director of Channel Sales and Partnerships.
- Successfully complete demo certification on our core products so that you are fully equipped to demo ClearCompany for existing and prospective partners.
WITHIN 3 MONTHS, YOU'LL
- Get up to speed on our existing partnerships and the competitive landscape by meeting with existing partners, reviewing industry reports, meeting regularly with our Marketing and Product teams, and attending select conferences to deepen knowledge of our partner ecosystem.
- Develop a sustainable and repeatable process to follow up with partners on the status of partner pipelines to develop forecasts
- Conduct initial meetings with 3 strategic partners to determine a baseline relationship. This should include metrics and opportunities for increasing the value of those relationships. Determine how we will structure the partnership whether it be through lead sharing, sales territory mapping, co-marketing, or other initiatives.
- Own regular business reviews and close partnerships with assigned strategic partners. This includes bi-weekly or monthly calls to measure adoption/traction, share what’s working and what’s not, leading up to quarterly reviews.
WITHIN 6 MONTHS, YOU'LL
- Establish recurring monthly sessions for new ClearCompany employees to be introduced to our partnerships function and a quarterly deep dive with sub-teams across Sales and Marketing.
- Own monthly sync with Sales leaders for our customer segments and Marketing leaders to review areas of collaboration, future opportunity, and room for improvement.
- Develop an annual Partnerships and Alliances calendar of events. This should include recommended conferences and partner events to attend for maximum partner engagement, and partner lunch and learns to enable our partners to engage with ClearCompany’s Sales and Success teams.
- Alongside the Director, Channel Sales & Partnerships, work cross-functionally with ClearCompany’s Sales and Marketing leaders to establish a framework and recommendations for executing our partnership strategy.
WITHIN 12 MONTHS, YOU'LL
- Work with the VP of Sales & Partnerships to develop a 1 and 3-year plan for the function including recommendations for the partnerships marketing budget to help deliver on our revenue and other strategic goals.
- Partner with Product and Marketing as we continue to build out a leading partner platform that delivers strong revenue generation, and builds a strategic advantage for the business.
WHAT WE’D LIKE YOU TO HAVE
- Ability to perform in a dynamic, rapidly changing, and fast-paced environment.
- 3-5 years of experience in a SaaS partnership role, with a strong preference for HR Tech/Human Capital Management experience.
- Strong customer empathy, ability to uncover their pain points, and offer meaningful and creative solutions.
- Ability to operate honestly and tactfully with customers; push back when required with ability to explain why it is in their best interest.
- A problem-solving mentality and the ability to quickly distill difficult concepts into easy-to-understand stories.
- People Management Experience. Identifying talent, hiring, onboarding, ramping, and managing the performance and satisfaction of direct reports.
- Strong ability to identify new partnership opportunities to drive incremental revenue for the business
- Ability to manage the complete partnership lifecycle. Need identification, analysis, business case development, partnership agreement execution, partnership implementation and enablement, partner support, and ongoing relationship optimization.
- Strong partner/relationship management skills. The ability to drive new business leads, revenue, and sales through existing and future partnerships.
- Strong, consistent experience in Partner Management in a high-growth environment.
- Strong presentation and communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Can effectively collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product to articulate the value of current and future partnerships and alliances.
- Can leverage cross-functional influence to gain buy-in and support for partnerships and alliances.
- Familiarity with the HR Tech ecosystem and integrations/API’s is a huge plus.
- Flexibility in work schedule is required; 50% travel may be required depending on location.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately forecast monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue.
- Strong business acumen.
- Strong, expert aptitude with business software tools (Google office suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
- Experience with Salesforce.com.
- Ability to establish strong cross-functional team relationships.
- Ability to navigate the strategic levels of organizations, identify key decision-makers, build relationships with senior executives, and schedule meetings with key stakeholders.
- Command of social media and digital marketing campaigns for the benefit of lead generation, gaining access to executives and networking with key stakeholders.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently, prioritize work, and coordinate multiple tasks within tight time constraints.
- Embraces and thrives in a culture of transparency, accountability, and trust.
The base compensation for this position is $80,000 to $115,000 annualized depending on experience and qualifications. This role is eligible for an additional compensation incentive in the form of performance based commissions/bonuses paid out quarterly. The commission/bonus payout is $110,000 annually when performing within the target range. A detailed commission plan will be provided in writing at the time of offer.
