Director of Sales-Job Description

Classification: exempt/salary position with discretionary commission/bonus opportunities

Work Hours and Location: Dekalb and Dundee, IL office locations with discretionary remote work. Some local and minimal interstate travel for meetings, leadership, conventions, sales and account activity. Typical work week is M-F, daytime hours. Full time hours on season, reduced hours during furlough off season (Jan-mid March).

Work Environment and physical demands: Work environment includes offices, construction sites and construction yards. Both indoor and outdoor environments. Physical demands can include walking, lifting, bending, climbing, and crouching.

Summary of action: The Chief Sales Officer is the procedural engineer who creates, implements, and oversees the most efficient and effective sales procedures to drive new and profitable business. They are critical to our company’s purpose is keeping our installers fed with the maximum backlog of work possible. Reports to: Integrator

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Commercial rep/Business development (2-3x)

· Estimator (1-2x)

· Residential sales rep (3-4x)

· Inside sales rep (1-2x)

· Admin./Sales Assistant (1-2x)

Qualifications:

· Understanding and experience using computer technology

· Must have the ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions at level necessary to accomplish the job

· Must maintain regular attendance, exhibit positive and professional conduct

· Capable of working with minimal supervision

· Must be able to relate positively and favorably to customers, employees, and to work cooperatively with others.

· Must be able and willing to learn and acquire knowledge in the field on an ongoing basis and grow and develop as a leader thru personal development, ongoing education, and on the job experiences

· Must be able to follow industry safety rules and adhere to company and contractor standards

· Must be capable of performing the Essential Functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Essential Functions

General expectations

· Seek: Establish prospecting/hunting guidelines to find new business

· Execute: Streamline bidding procedures to produce accurate and timely quotes that close the deal

· Dazzle: Ensure proposal and marketing literature is effective in separating our company from the next

· Finish: Ensure timely, accurate and comprehensive hand off to operations and ensure mutual team effort is committed towards excellence in the eye of our customers

Cultivate/LMA-Lead Manage and Hold accountable

· Hire and train the necessary and allocated staff

· Ensure the wellbeing of all sales individuals entrusted with

· Regularly, consistently, and fairly evaluate and provide feedback in order to optimize individual contributions toward team goal

· Cultivate a positive and winning environment that breeds success

Integration

· Work directly with COO in order to establish cross department cohesion

· Ensure turn in procedures are solid and followed through with

· Ensure symbiotic healthy family relationship between sales and operations, committed to mutual success

· Assist in any remedies as necessary to mitigate customer disappointment or scope gap.

Metrics- set yearly and individually depending on company growth goals and operational stability

· Overall sales volume: $20M

· Overall quote volume: $60M

· Close rate: 25%

· Forecasted Gross Margin: 35%+ average

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $131,954.00 per year
