NAMI Hancock County is in search of a Director of Peer Engagement that provides planning, marketing, organizing, and direction of adult programs, as well as recruitment and support for adult programming facilitators and volunteers, including high-quality client care and high-quality information to organization members and community.
This position is responsible for planning, marketing, organizing, and direction of adult programming facilitators and volunteers. This full-time position is 40 hours a week Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work may likely be required as job duties demand, but flex time can be utilized.
Required Bachelors’ degree in social sciences, social work or related field, two years or more of successful work experience in this or a related field. Prior experience as an adult program coordinator for public or nonprofit employer. Prior experience creating and implementing adult programs and training. Experience working with adults with mental health conditions is a plus.
Summary/Objective
The Director of Peer Engagement provides planning, marketing, organizing, and directing the adult programs, as well as recruitment and support for adult programming facilitators and volunteers. This position is also responsible for maintaining professional relationships with area agencies and community collaboration in adult programming.
Essential Functions

Provide accurate and quality information for all inquiries via phone, fax, mail, or e-mail.
Complete and deliver monthly reports to Executive Director.
Organize, coordinate, and manage the recruitment of facilitators and volunteers for adult programs and support groups.
Coordinate educational adult programs and identify community adult program needs.
Work with social, civic, and local organizations to develop partnerships, where appropriate, to develop adult programming.
Develop and implement training programs for all adult programming facilitators and volunteers.
Develop and implement all adult programs for Peer-to-Peer, Family-to-Family, Family Support Group, Connection Recovery Support Group, In Our Own Voice, and any new adult program/group that is developed.
Maintain updated records on all adult programs, facilitators, volunteers, habitués, and maintain confidentiality.
Assist in all adult programming grant writing.
Participate in health fairs.
Schedule and facilitate adult program and support group facilitator meetings.
Provide individual support and advocacy services to adult.
Recruit and develop adult program and support group facilitators.
Develop and implement an adult programming facilitator recognition program.
Serve as Field Instructor for some student interns if appropriate.
Coordinate and manage Peer Lounge Facebook Group.
Coordinate and manage adult peer outreach events.
Coordinate and manage adult peer events/activities.
Participate in public speaking engagements and attend organizational events as needed and/or appropriate.
Any other job function agreed upon by the Executive Director and the Director of Peer Engagement.

*This position has no direct staff supervisory responsibilities but does supervise the entire adult program facilitator force and at times, interns.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment, off-site venues, and outside event areas in various weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may likely be required as job duties demand, but flex time can be utilized.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelors’ degree in social sciences, social work or related field.
Two years or more of successful work experience in this or a related field, or
prior experience as a program coordinator for public or nonprofit employer.
Prior experience creating and implementing volunteer adult programs and training.
Working with adults/children with mental health conditions is a plus.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $47,000.00 per year
