Job Summary
Reporting to the Executive Vice President, the Director of Operations has responsibility for the performance of multiple manufacturing locations, the operational performance of assigned markets, and the standardization and effectiveness of assigned business processes. The Director of Operations develops and formulates strategic plans, coaches direct and indirect reports, and applies continuous improvement principles to ensure we systematically take care of each other, take care of the customer, and take care of the business.
Essential Job Functions
- Audit and verify implementation of our operational safety program at each facility in order to take care of our team members.
- Oversee operations for assigned facilities including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), financial performance, continuous improvement initiatives, and customer service.
- Ensure assigned plants meet their established KPI metrics. If metric goals are not being met, ensure plant leadership has a plan in place to correct.
- Coach and mentor value stream leadership and corresponding Facility Managers across the Enterprise.
- Regularly audit, update (document) and train others on assigned business processes to ensure all team members are following known best practices.
- Understand the Voice of the Customer using KPI’s to continuously evaluate, analyze and react to market and customer conditions affecting operational performance.
- Lead the implementation of our culture of continuous improvement including regular assessments based on the Shingo Model criteria.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance to the Company policies, the Code of Conduct and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Ability to lead and influence people and teams
- Ability to evaluate human resource talent
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, presentation skills, and demonstrated ability to interface at all levels of the company
- Ability to read and analyze financial statements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in business, industrial manufacturing, engineering, or other related field
- A minimum of five years of experience in multi-site management with P&L responsibility or the equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in manufacturing.

Travel
Employee must be able to travel 25-50% of the time.
