We seek a Food and Beverage Trainer to join our dynamic Bandon Dunes Golf Resort team. As a Trainer, you will play a vital role in training and developing our front-of-house (FOH) hourly employees while ensuring the maintenance of training materials and FOH and back-of-house (BOH) systems.
Your Essential Functions:
Take charge of all aspects of hourly employee training, including departmental orientation, initial training, tastings, informational seminars, and ongoing development, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Review, update, and maintain hourly employee training and reference materials, ensuring they are up-to-date and relevant to our evolving industry.
Observe and assess FOH and BOH systems, making recommendations for improvement and effectively communicating your observations to management and partners.
Actively participate in management meetings and informational seminars, contributing your expertise and insights to the team.
Strive for excellence in all functions outlined in our hourly team members' job descriptions, setting a high performance standard.
Maintain flexibility in your schedule, accommodating a variety of days, shifts, and working hours, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends.
Utilize tools, utensils, equipment, and software (e.g., restaurant management software) safely and efficiently to support training and development initiatives.
Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to ensure clear understanding and execution of job requirements.
Excel at multitasking, remaining calm and efficient under pressure while managing multiple responsibilities.
Adapt to working in confined and crowded spaces with varying light, noise, and temperature levels, ensuring safety and productivity.
Lift and move objects weighing up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 25 pounds occasionally, and up to 50 pounds when needed.
Stand and walk for extended periods, traversing all areas of the restaurant, including stairs and uneven surfaces, while adhering to safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Serve as a role model for teamwork, fostering a collaborative environment across all teams.
Maintain a positive and pleasant attitude throughout each shift, inspiring and motivating your colleagues.
Assist the Management Team and designated managers/chefs in various tasks, such as interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, supervising, and developing hourly employees as needed.
Facilitate the completion of new hire forms and paperwork for FOH employees, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience.
Utilize our online applicant tracking system (ATS), updating applicant workflow status and training managers on ATS functions as required.
Monitor, address, and document individual employee performance through recognition, coaching, and, when necessary, disciplinary action. Contribute to the execution and organization of crucial training programs, including GHS, food handlers compliance, and alcohol awareness.
Train all hourly teams on safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures, including the proper use of equipment.
Demonstrate tact and good judgment when addressing challenges related to guests, vendors, and employees, responding patiently and courteously.
Ensure repair and maintenance needs are promptly addressed or communicated to designated managers.
Understand and adhere to the food allergy procedure and special orders and restrictions.
Uphold our rigorous food storage and quality standards, ensuring consistency and presentation excellence.
