Position Description: The Director of Data Management is responsible for the oversight and management of all programmatic data related to Wesley services and clients. This includes tracking and reporting data for funders, training staff on data systems and helping extract data used to communicate Wesley impact to the community. The Director is responsible for reporting of monthly programmatic statistics using the agency’s primary database Apricot as well as numerous additional databases in use at Wesley (Salesforce, HMIS, Link2Feed, etc.). This position will report to the Chief Program Officer and will interface closely with Program Directors, the Director of Development, and the President/CEO. The Director is responsible for training staff in database input, documentation, analytics, and reporting and will play a lead role in the organization’s Continuous Quality Improvement and Data Ambassador’s groups. The successful candidate will balance competing priorities and workflows to meet organizational objectives and critical timelines.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for integrating all data systems at Wesley to ensure accurate, timely and complete funder reporting and informative, accurate communication to external audiences.
- Responsible for analyzing project data, creating project reports, and ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with the program heads to extract figures and create reports based on their findings
- Daily administer and proactively monitor data in Apricot and other related databases.
- Collect data from primary and secondary data sources and ensure data integrity by working with Program Heads.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret data by combining data from different departments.
- Review information and prepare various program reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Run performance testing procedures to ensure the proper operations of database and to ensure its error free.
- Develop and provide step-by-step procedure to the staff for data collection, data entry and data integrity.
- Ability to coach and train the team in collecting accurate data, entering data accurately, and maintaining records of data.
- Proficient in generating programmatic reporting, data collection, and consolidation of reports.
- Assist with Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and data management for all program areas.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required or 8 years of experience. Minimum 4 years of experience in data base administration and/or evaluation of nonprofit analysis/reporting. Experience working with multiple programmatic databases like Apricot, Salesforce, etc. Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Intermediate to Advanced PowerPoint skills.
Preferred Experience: Working knowledge of nonprofit operations and federal/state grant programs.

Work/Physical Requirements: This position requires the employee to work constructively and cooperatively in a team environment. Employee(s) in this position will work primarily in an office setting where they will interact with clients to help resolve issues; while also occasionally having to stand and walk to complete job duties. Must be able to lift and carry up to (25) pounds unassisted. Employee in this position may be required to work weekends in support of program services and special events.
