An exciting opportunity exists for a candidate with a proven successful track record of high-quality Banquet Operations management and team leadership at a private club or high-end establishment in the hospitality industry. The ideal candidate will be seasoned in managing high-volume Banquet Operations with an elevated focus on Guest and Member Relations, by possessing the ability to obtain the highest in guest and member satisfaction ratings. The candidate will lead with an engaging quality and possess the ability to inspire and organize a large team. The candidate will be an integral part of multiple high-performing teams at one of the premier private equity clubs in Southern California. The Director of Banquets will work closely and cohesively with the Catering, Culinary and Food & Beverage teams. We welcome qualified candidates.

Qualifications
-Provides quality leadership by inspiring and managing the Banquet operations successfully in a high-volume Food and Beverage Banquet operation in the Upper Club.
-Executes a positive guest and member experience for every event, by promoting the Bel-Air Bay Club, as a destination of choice for external guests, resulting in referral business.
-Acquires high guest and member satisfaction ratings and feedback.
-Creates a positive atmosphere of success within teams and the department.
-Executes goals and meets deadlines.
-Fulfills details as demonstrated on Banquet Event Orders (BEO) to ensure guest/member expectations are met.
-Responds to guest/member feedback, issues, concerns and comments in a timely manner with solution-oriented results.
-Communicates all issues and concerns with upper management and peers in a timely manner.
-Directs and oversees financial and operational targets.
-Leads and inspires Direct Reports to perform at their peak to deliver an excellent experience to members, guests and colleagues.
-Recruits, trains, educates and develops staff to perform at the highest of standards.
-Manages banquet beverage program which may include analyzing processes, vendors and implement changes when required.
-Manages wine, liquor, inventory, and demonstrate cost containment in order to achieve beverage cost percentage.
-Directs the implementation of payroll, reports, forecasts, inventory and budget for Upper Club food and beverage personnel.
-Perform daily walk-throughs of the Upper Club House to ensure the highest possible standards of aesthetics, housekeeping and facilities maintenance.
-Successfully works with Catering and Culinary teams to ensure every event is successful for all departments.
Direct Reports: Assistant Director of Banquets, Banquet Captains, Lead Steward, Housemen, Servers, Bussers, Bartenders, Bar Backs.

Educational and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or combination of higher education and work experience combined
- Hospitality training or management certification desired
- Minimum 3 years previous experience as Director of Banquets in high-volume, high-quality Banquet Operations
- Knowledge of Triple Seat (BEO’s) and Social Tables (Floorplans) helpful
- Executive presence with a professional, engaging demeanor
- Inspirational leadership and mentoring skills
- Exceptional, interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to strategize and operate in a high pressure, high volume outlet
- Ability to adapt to changes and embrace solutions
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Work Hours
The Director of Banquets is considered an exempt, salaried employee and the work hours are defined by the responsibilities of the job and business demands of the Club. This position requires late evening hours, weekends and holidays. The schedule is primarily Wednesday thru Sunday with late evening hours, but schedule is subject to change at any time based on Club demands.
