The Job

The Director of Agency Development is responsible for recruiting, organizing, motivating, developing, retaining, and leading the sub-contracted agencies at the top of hierarchy. This position is both strategic and tactical. Its emphasis is the sales goals of our external partners with an emphasis on overall performance management and expectations of our contract. This position is expected to provide the Chief Growth Officer (CGO) with monthly updates and status reports of over and underperforming agency partners.

The Director of Agency Development will create sustainable value and Business growth by Establishing and providing a point of contact to lead the execution of high priority initiatives positioning SCAN Health Plan. Develop a framework for market and competitive assessment to identify high leverage opportunities.


You Will

Strategic Direction and Execution

  • Develop a market perspective to drive the strategic marketing and business case decision for the sales channel pipeline, sales channel priorities, and value proposition to our agents and clients.
  • Consults with GM’s CGO to gather competitive intelligence to identify and influence new product and sales opportunities.
  • Delegates authority and responsibility to BAE’s, VP and CGO to execute agreed upon sales strategy and tactical plans per agency.
  • Understand the changing healthcare landscape and be able to identify opportunities and develop sales strategies to capitalize on them.
  • Support CGO and Vice President of Broker sales with developing strategies for new and existing market opportunities
  • Have an instrumental role in meeting monthly and yearly sales goals.

Tactical:

  • Increase number of Brokers who are RTS (Ready to Sell)
  • Reduce the number of brokers who are not RTS (those who did not complete Training
  • Increase the number of RTS resident brokers in expansion states.
  • Increase the number of agencies that are contracted with SCAN.
  • Agency reviews – Monthly or Quarterly reviews of production (all downline agencies). Intel collection, future growth initiatives, retention reviews, top producers for SCAN and other carriers
  • And other KPI’s to be determined with CGO

Team Management

  • Responsible for collaborative decisions, development, performance management, co-op and reward planning for agencies/external partners.
  • Directs and delegates authority and responsibility to BAE team to deliver on strategy.

Actively support the achievement of SCAN’s Vision and Goals.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Life and Health License on resident state
  • 10+ years of experience with minimum 5 years of experience within Medicare or healthcare environment and with minimum 2-3 years of management and/or account management of brokers required.
  • Previous state or federal regulatory or Medicare Advantage experience. Understanding of CMS regulations.
  • Successful management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in all multiple MS software packages.
  • Moderate travel as needed
