Director, Leadership Communications. This role can be remotely based in the NJ/PA/NYC area - only come into the office as necessary.
We are looking for a highly skilled professional to design and execute communications strategies and plans for the CEO and other leaders to build and enhance the company’s reputation; create a favorable environment for our business; maximize employee engagement, retention and productivity; and highlight our purpose. The primary responsibility of the role is the development and activation of external and internal communications for the CEO. This is a key communications role, working closely with many others across the company and world, to drive thought leadership that informs and inspires action to address women’s health. This position reports to the Executive Director, Leadership & ESG Communications.
Primary responsibilities:
Writing content including formal speeches, remarks, key messages and talking points, published letters, social media posts, email messages and organizational announcements as well as development of slides and other visuals.
Development of videos including scripts and oversight of production.
Oversight of, or participation in, production of live events.
Oversight of CEO LinkedIn channel, including planning, creative content development, executing, and measuring content performance and approaches.
Direction of, and collaboration with, in-house or contracted graphic designers, event producers, video producers, PR firms, etc.
Obtain and execute premier speaker engagement opportunities and develop multi-channel amplification strategies.
Oversee creation and maintenance of calendar of deliverables for CEO, working in close collaboration with global external affairs team and local markets.
Collaborate with the Office of CEO to develop Board of Directors and other key materials, as needed.
Education Minimum Requirements:
B.A degree.
Required Experience and Skills:
Accomplished communications professional with at least 8 years of experience in corporate communications, executive communications, public relations agency or related field.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a passion for storytelling.
Proven ability to deliver authentic, strategic and relevant content across different channels and for different audiences.
Proven ability to deliver impactful social media content.
Experience in development of editorial content and plans, including the PESO model and working with video (storyboarding, filming & editing), plus social media content development.
Proven experience in developing thought leadership content and/or programming.
Proactive and team-based approach to the role.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Experience in pharmaceutical health care and women’s health issues.
Experience in supporting communications for CEO or other high-level executives.
Experience in developing and growing the social media handles of high-level executives.
Superior interpersonal communications skills. Strong presentation and facilitation skills; ability to persuade a wide variety of audiences.
Able to quickly learn the business and operate within a complex, fast-paced and changing environment.
Media and message training of executives at various skill levels.
Experience operating within a matrixed, global corporate environment.
Clear thinking/problem solving; successfully leading multiple projects/initiatives; able to conceive of and quickly build new ideas; project management skills are key and ability to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on best available information and communicate priorities clearly and concisely.
Entrepreneurial mindset and collaborative spirit a must.
