Position: Director, Human Resources
Reports To: CEO
Position Summary: Oversees the Human Resource department’s responsibilities and activities for the organization. This position provides professional HR support for all plant locations. Manage a variety of programs and initiatives that include recruiting and staffing, employee relations, compensation, benefits, workforce analysis and reporting, and regulatory compliance.
**This is a one-person HR department. Binlingual in Spanish is strongly preferred***
Position Responsibilities:
- All recruiting, onboarding, orientation, employee relations, internal employee training, and performance management.
- Partner with staffing agencies and establish on-going relationship to fill and maintain personnel
- Completes onboarding process including the verification of I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
- Monitor the accurate processing of employee new hires, changes, transfers, promotions and terminations. Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll production.
- Oversee the maintenance of current employee data systems. Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Maintain HR records for performance, training, safety, and people metrics.
- Support implementation of facility safety program.
- Assist in identifying, documenting, and communicating employee performance issues. Review performance reviews and action plans and provide feedback to leaders prior to communicating with employees.
- Investigate employee relations issues to resolution partnering with other departments and division/region HR as necessary. Communicate results with appropriate parties.
- Conduct detailed competitive research, analysis, and modeling for compensation programs including annual increase budgets, competitive assessments of trends and impacts
- Develop and lead the process for all benefit related requests for proposals/negotiation with vendors of health, dental, life insurance, retirement plans, etc.
- Conduct job evaluations and identify emerging trends within the industry
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or 5-7 years of direct experience.
- Minimum 3 years managerial/supervisory experience.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in relevant payroll and accounting software.
- Strong understanding of all compliance and reporting requirements relating to compensation and benefits.
- Experience preparing materials for presentation to leadership, including developing Board of Director level presentation
- In-depth knowledge in the areas of: base salary, market pricing, variable pay, data analysis, research and cost/benefit design modeling and benefit plan design.
- Strong business acumen and solid understanding of the financial, legal and tax implications on compensation programs and the ability to analyze data, understand trends and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis.
