Director, HIM Operations - Health Information Management - Mullica Hill Job at Inspira Health Network
MAJOR FUNCTION :
This position is responsible for providing Health Information Management (HIM), EHR/Record management leadership and support across the Inspira Health system for both hospital and IMG.
The System HIM Director will be responsible for the management of its material, financial, and human resources while overseeing the Hospital HIM Operations. Will develop and implement an operational plan for all aspects of HIM Operations that is in alignment with the Inspira Health strategic plan and goals. S/he will work collaboratively with leaders of each hospital, IMG leadership and the other leaders on the Revenue Cycle team to support the goals and objectives of the Inspira Health and ensures medical records and departmental aspects of their compilation and assessment meet standards established by DNV, CMS, DOH and the Medical Staff, and others as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Education:
- Bachelor's degree in health information management or other related healthcare degree required.
- Master's degree preferred
B. Experience:
- 7 - 10 years of progressive management experience; most recent 5 years in a HIM Director/Manager position
- Experience as Regional Director preferred.
- Experience with leading a multiple entity or large organization preferred
- Previous project management experience required
- Member of AHIMA with maintenance of continuing education requirements
- Knowledge of DNV accreditation standards, medical/legal regulatory requirements, and HIPAA federal and state privacy laws
C. Certification/Licensure:
RHIA or RHIT required.
Additional certifications such as CCS, CPHQ or CHPS a plus
