Director of Families First in Greater Memphis.
The Greater Memphis Area Director of Families First is responsible to the Director of Workforce Services for the administrative functions of the DHS-funded program. They oversee the daily operations of the program in Memphis and the adjoining county offices, supervising 10-12 employees in client management and data reporting. They are responsible for communicating with county DHS officials about procedures and client cases and overseeing quarterly Education and Health Services events/fairs for the public. This position does require quarterly travel to Nashville, TN for DHS meetings.

Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of DHS policies and procedures, particularly those specific to the Families First program.
Knowledge of the ACCENT day system (DHS).
Knowledge of DHS Contract Language requirements.
Knowledge of grant application procedures.
Knowledge of DHS Performance Measures Objectives.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to effectively supervise employees.
Required QualificationsBachelor’s Degree preferably in Human Services or relevant concentration plus one year of work experience with a social services program; or five years of work experience with a social services program; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
*While educational requirements are important, experience is weighed heavily and is favorable for this position.
Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of the SHA Accent system is preferred.
