We are looking for an energetic, compassionate and professional person to work with a program participant in their home and in the community.
The individual is an adult that is currently living with his family. He is looking for someone that can help him be more involved in his community by attending chess matches, going to the gym and finding social groups where he can discuss his interest. The rate of pay is $20 an hour and the hours will vary each week because he does work part-time. This position is part time.
Self-Hired Community Habilitation Assistants provide a wide variety of person-centered supports and services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities helping them to live the life of their choice. Self-Hired Staff will empower the people they work with by modeling, teaching and advocating for them to achieve their highest level of independent living, enable their fullest participation in society, ensure their civil and human rights are protected and promote their abilities to be productive, contributing members of their community. Self-Hired respite assistants will provide support and supervision to a person with a developmental disability who resides in heir family home, helping them live out the life of their choice and providing relief to the family member/caregiver.
Staff must be able to do the following:
- Have good communication skills with determining hours working that week.
- Must have reliable car, be listed on the insurance and be comfortable having the individual in the car with them.
- Must be reliable.
- Must be able to use technology
- Must have a personal email and smart phone
- Background check and fingerprint is required.

- Evening shift

- Monday to Friday
- No nights
- Weekend availability
