POSITION SUMMARY:

The Digital and Ecommerce team at Bass Pro Shops / Cabela’s is looking for a Digital Product Manager to help us in our commitment to building innovative digital solutions to further the organization’s mission of inspiring everyone to love, enjoy and conserve the outdoors. This is a customer centric role, focused on translating the needs of the customer into online business opportunities. They should have an e-commerce mindset, a coherent understanding of web development technologies and practices, and excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Explore and expand opportunities that lead to business outcomes, product outcomes and traction outcomes with design and development partners.
• Engage in continuous discovery – benchmark our products, conduct primary research, interview product users and business stakeholders, distill insight from analytics, user testing and replays.
• Define the opportunity – the what, and the why – and make the case for why your approach represents a win for both our business and for our customers with supporting KPIs.
• Document your findings with written objectives and underlying assumptions and focus our efforts with user stories and criteria that define what winning looks like.
• Collaborate with UX and interaction designers, business analysts and web developers to define functional requirements and test criteria, and to finesse the hand-off to development + QA.
• Partner with business owners and product teams to craft product roadmaps that lead to optimal outcomes while maximizing agility and responding to changes in approach / marketplace.
• Manage the backlog for your digital products / stories / tasks.
• Write product objectives, KPIs, user stories and test criteria.
• Lead / facilitate solution design, feature development, QA and acceptance testing.
• Partner with cross functional teams to align on feature development and prioritization.
• Partner with IT / PMO to prioritize backlog / manage resources to assure on-time delivery.
• Develop product positioning and messaging to assure differentiation from competitors.
• Monitor and evaluate product performance / lifecycle to iterate and improve capability.
• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or an unrelated discipline with demonstrable experience in digital product management and e-commerce
• Experience: 5+ years’ digital product management or directly related experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

• Strong analytical, prioritization, and negotiating skills
• Usability and customer experience planning / design a plus
• Familiarity with Atlassian product set (Jira, Confluence) and Agile practices
• Passionate about building great products and solving customer and business problems

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• 10%

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

• Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Regularly performs computer work and sits.
• Occasionally walks and stands.
• Seldom/never lifts up to 50lbs.
