Position Summary: Works in accordance with established policies and procedures and/or specific instruction from the Food/Beverage Manager for Healthcare Services. The Dietary Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Food/Beverage Manager for Healthcare Services in the direct operation of the dietary department including developing dietary employee performance skills and assuring proper nutritional support of the residents. This position reports to the Food and Beverage Manager for Healthcare Services.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training in food service operations of health care institutions preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have thorough knowledge of therapeutic diets and food nutrients to ensure receipt of proper menu choices for those residents with increased/decreased needs as ordered by physician. Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred. Supervisory experience preferred and excellent communication skills are a must.
