I have what it takes!

• Prepare and serve therapeutic meals (This ain't high-society or fast food, we care about our guest's health after the meal)
• Transport hot and cold foods to and from Dinning Hall
• Transports all required non-food items to and from pantries to prepare meals
• Sanitize cutlery, plates, kitchen tools, and specialized drinking per Federal Government Sanitation Regulations
• Provides health center snacks and supplements per diet orders
• Maintains stock and sanitation levels in coffee and juice machines in dining rooms
• Maintains workstation is in proper order
• Takes order, provides service, and requested items both graciously and courteously
• Clears dishes from tables during and after meal service (Management steps in and helps during every meal)
• Answers pertinent questions about menu items
• Ensures that orders match Physician’s diet orders

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, perform simple arithmetic, and understand measurements and conversions
• Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred, but not required
• Ability to plan, organize and set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards
• Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires empathy for the elder
