ReNu Recycling Services (a division of NorthStar CG, LP) currently has an open position for an Assistant Diesel Equipment Mechanic in Seattle, WA.

ReNu provides Recycling Services to many of the major construction sites in the Seattle and Portland areas, you have probably seen our distinctive blue and green boxes. Join our established team of dedicated professionals in our mission to help reduce construction waste

The mechanic group is looking for a motivated individual to join our team. If you are mechanically inclined, we will train you on our equipment. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge of diesel trucks maintenance in a small, friendly shop.

Primary Duties of Assistant Diesel Mechanic:

Assist our Mechanic by

• Undertaking smaller and preventative maintenance tasks, under supervision
• Updating maintenance records
• Cleaning equipment
• Being an extra set of hands for the Mechanic on major repairs
• Driving to collect pre-ordered parts from suppliers using a Company truck and bringing them back to the shop
• Keeping work areas tidy and stocked
• Pulling parts from shelves
• Assisting with stock control

Qualifications & Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an Assistant Diesel Mechanic must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities needed to perform the essential functions. • Minimum 21 years of age
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must have a valid Driver License with satisfactory driving record,
• Ability to work cooperatively to keep our equipment moving
• Self-starter, works independently, good organizational skills
• Once conditional offer is made, be able to pass a background check and drug test

Relevant Experience:

• Some mechanical experience or training (1 year+)

Physical Capabilities:

• Able to lift up and/or move to 50 lbs occasionally, more with assistance
• Able to sit, stand, walk, twist, crawl, reach, stoop, kneel, squat to complete repairs in an area with concrete floors or at the roadside
• Frequent periods of driving, able to drive truck, load and unload parts
• Frequent speaking (English), reading (English), listening (English) and writing (English)
• Exposure to weather can be expected for truck breakdowns

Perks & Benefits:

Pay: $19- $21 / hour.

The typical workweek is Monday thru Friday, 40 hours per week with some overtime possible.
