POSITION REPORTS TO

Assistant Director of Development

AGRARIA CENTER FOR REGENERATIVE PRACTICE

Agraria is an educational and research center that explores and demonstrates the benefits of regenerative practices at multiple levels-- environmental, economic, psychological and social, to their impact on human health and well-being. Soil regeneration is the root-bed of this work. It is our mission to cultivate community resilience by modeling regenerative practices that restore ecosystem health, heal our relationship with the land, and grow just and equitable food systems. Agraria is a rapidly growing non-profit leading southwest Ohio’s effort to educate and promote regenerative agriculture. Our bustling campus welcomes students, volunteers, researchers, and farmers of all ages and backgrounds.

JOB SUMMARY

This position provides a wide range of administrative support to the Development and Administrative Teams at Agraria including database coordination, data entry, gift processing, general office support, and communication functions. This position is responsible for assisting in the execution of all aspects of the database management process, including gift entering, recording and categorizing, and data entry.

ESSENTIAL ACTIVITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

Contribute to the overall success of the Development program by working on special projects and performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned including set up, tear down, and other ways of supporting special events during and occasionally outside of standard work hours.

Gift Processing

  • Record and process payments for gifts and pledge payments.
  • Prepare, secure and deliver cashier deposits to the finance office
  • Manage the timely acknowledgement of gifts and assure that all types of donations (cash, pledges, matching gifts, and planned gifts) are properly documented

Bookkeeping Assistance

  • Assist Bookkeeper with recording daily deposits within Quickbooks
  • Assist Bookkeeper with entering invoices into Quickbooks

Administrative Support

  • Provide support to Development administrative functions, to include ordering office supplies & stationery, office coordination, scheduling, greeting visitors, booking travel, and administrative support for members of the team.
  • Assist with Departmental financial functions such as reporting, receipt tracking, budgeting, filing, and credit card reconciliation.

Other Duties

  • Complete other tasks as assigned in support of Prospect Research, Communications, Development, Corporate and Foundation Relations/Grants and Community Engagement, including but not limited to donor correspondence, research support, stewardship efforts, and board, staff, and volunteer support related tasks.
  • Support fundraising, friendraising and other Agraria sponsored events.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years of experience in a nonprofit organization, preferably in a Development role
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills - ability to write clear and compelling communications to inform and persuade
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and to complete detail-oriented work with a high level of accuracy
  • Knowledge and experience with PC-based computer systems, Microsoft or Google Suite, email and video conferencing software such as Zoom & Google Meet
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or commensurate experience
  • Proficiency with fundraising software/donor databases, preferably DonorPerfect
  • Genuine passion for Agraria’s mission, and a desire to share that with others

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Interest in helping with projects outside of defined job responsibilities such as, but not limited to, gardening projects, events, occasional weekend work, and educational programs.

REQUIRED SKILLS/PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • Required to lift items up to 30 pounds on occasion.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to handle data in a confidential and secure manner, respecting the confidentiality of that data in all communications with internal and external constituencies
  • Physical ability to perform daily office activities, to include sitting long periods at a desk as well as written, electronic, verbal and/or sign language correspondence
  • Ability to utilize standard office equipment such as phone and computer and other devices used in support of work accomplishment
  • Physical ability to participate in special events, which may include set up, clean up, transportation and more

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
