We are currently seeking a talented and team-oriented DevOps Engineer to add to our team.

As a DevOps Engineer, your primary responsibilities support the software team with configuration management support, on-prem & cloud based. You will work closely with IT and Engineering teams collaborating to create solutions that streamline the software development process, including supporting CI pipelines. Your expertise and familiarity with the broad portfolio of products and services that are part of the Azure DevOps infrastructure is essential. Your ability to apply, document and characterize those products and services as a "solution" that meets requirements and address scale, growth, elasticity, security, operations, performance, efficiency and cost is your principal challenge.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the existing on-prem configuration management infrastructure, based on Mercurial, Fogbugz (cloud) and Jenkins.
  • Identify opportunities, plan and execute for a migration to Azure DevOps for some or most of the on-prem toolset.
  • Be a consultant for the software team in daily operation of both on-prem and future cloud-based tools.
  • Enhance and create procedures for DevOps best practices, tailored to Seurat's development environment.
  • Participate in the development of a multi-year technology roadmap, including but not limited to Seurat's DevOps and Security initiatives.
  • Test our system integrity, implemented designs, application developments, and other processes related to infrastructure, making improvements as needed.
  • Automate our operational processes as needed, with accuracy, and in compliance with our security requirements.
  • Manage patch deployments, fixes, updates, and related processes.
  • Work closely with the Security team to implement security best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to translate user input and requirements into actionable technology roadmaps, down to a granular level through compute, storage, and networking configurations where appropriate
  • Ability to see and communicate the big picture
  • Working knowledge of managing Mercurial, Git, or Suversion (SVN) and common management or source control scripting / administration tasks.
  • Working knowledge of CI tools such as Jenkins and cloud-based Azure CI pipelines.
  • Demonstrated experience with Azure DevOps, multi-repository configuration, administration and best practices.
  • Experience guiding a software team in daily operations by creating procedures and automation / scripting as required.
  • Experience configuring and managing Microsoft/Windows-based infrastructure and security as it pertains to DevOps.
  • Experience managing DevOps for software projects that are desktop / local and cross-platform.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as PoweShell/Batch, Python & Bash.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with VMWare ESXi and VMWare Workstation for managing development environments.
  • Experience with / understanding of development requirements for embedded targets.
  • Experience with / understanding of industrial / mechatronics systems as it pertains to unique development requirements.

Education/Experience:

  • B.S. degree in Software, Computer Science or related.
  • 3+ years experience in related fields
  • M.S. degree preferred
