Position: Development Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Development

Function
The Development Coordinator manages the daily activities of VOA Southeast’s fundraising program, assists in the development of goals and strategies for all fundraising campaigns, plans and implements marketing programs and special events to maximize prospect/donor engagement, and develops and maintains a prospect portfolio of foundations and donors to optimize fundraising opportunities. The Development Coordinator is also responsible for researching and writing, and the submission and tracking of grants. The Development Coordinator ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Fundraising training opportunities are provided through webinars. Full university access for training and certification in Blackbaud Raisers Edge NXT and Luminate Online is provided.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and non-profit experience preferred. Must possess excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills and a high level of administrative self-sufficiency, including computer proficiency. Must possess the ability to multi-task and prioritize many projects with a high level of customer service and confidentiality. The position requires strong organization and process management skills. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively. Experience with Raisers Edge/Raisers Edge NXT or equivalent fundraising CRM software preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Principal Activities:
1. In partnership with the Director of Development, develop and oversee the organization’s fundraising programs.
2. Communicate and represent the mission, vision, and values, of VOA, and share a clear and compelling narrative to donors and stakeholders.
3. Execute and monitor individual donor strategies.
4. In partnership with the Director of Development, identify and cultivate relationships with individual, foundation, and corporate donors.
5. Become proficient in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge, CRM tool (trainings offered online through Blackbaud University) and Luminate Online
6. Coordinate private foundation grant process and assist with the management of relationships with foundation staff.
7. Support the execution of fundraising events and volunteer projects
8. Assist with research and grant funding applications.
9. Troubleshoot and respond to all donor inquiries, issues and requests or refer them to the appropriate staff member.
10. Ensure timely acknowledgement of gifts and accurate reporting to funders.
11. Other duties as assigned
