Detox Technician Job at Pennington County, SD
The Pennington County Sheriff's Office is excited to accept applications for the Detox Technician position at our Addiction Treatment Services located at the Care Campus. Detox Technicians provide direct care to clients who enter the facility to receive treatment and undergo detoxification. Individuals with a desire to serve and have demonstrated interest in addiction services are encouraged to apply!
Detox Technicians work rotating shifts to include days, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays. As a Detox Technician, you will work all 3 shifts at some point in the year. You will also work weekends.

The Detox Tech performs all duties relevant to providing direct care for individuals receiving detoxification, alcohol/drug addiction treatment, or mental health crisis care services; or using safe solutions. Detox Techs are responsible for maintaining a therapeutically safe and secure environment through close and courteous interactions with clients that may be intoxicated, withdrawing, or in mental health crisis in normal and potentially volatile circumstances. Detox Techs are required to handle multiple tasks occasionally under high stress conditions.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: One year experience in direct client/patient care is preferred. Preference given to those with experience working with individuals afflicted with substance abuse
- License / Certification: must have valid SD driver's license within 90 days of moving to SD
