Pay Range: $63,000 - $82,100
Overview
As a Cooling Component Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and validation of cooling components, modules, and systems for machine and power systems applications. Working under the direction of an engineering team leader, you will lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Concurrent Product and Process Development (CPPD) activities to ensure the development of cooling products that meet time, cost, and quality requirements within budget. Your scope will include new product introduction (NPI), cost reduction initiatives, and current production support. Effective communication with engineering team members, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders will be essential. You will also adhere to established standards, policies, and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, and ergonomics.
Responsibilities
- Design and validate cooling components, modules, and systems for machine and power systems applications.
- Lead APQP and CPPD activities to ensure timely and high-quality development of cooling products.
- Collaborate with engineering team members, Global Supplier Network Development (GSND), suppliers, and customers.
- Adhere to established standards, policies, and practices related to quality, cost reduction, safety, and ergonomics.
Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering (GPA > 3.2).
- 3-5 years of solid modeling experience using software such as CREO or SolidWorks.
Skills Required:
- Working knowledge of Teamcenter, APQP, Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and CAT 1E specifications.
- Previous experience with supplier CPPD (Concurrent Product and Process Development).
- Experience with new product introduction (NPI) and component development.
- Strong problem-solving skills for analyzing and resolving structural issues.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate and interact with stakeholders.
Skills Desired:
- Expertise in heat transfer and knowledge of heat exchanger suppliers.
- Strong academic background in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and mechanics of materials.
- Knowledge of mechanical fatigue and experimental stress analysis.
- Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
