Responsibilities include performing 3D modeling and drafting of valves, valve components, tools, accessories, and other valve-related devices in response to guidance or direction from the Engineering Manager. The position involves both original design work and modeling from markups and spreadsheets. Desirable characteristics are high energy, and self-starters interested in advancing their technical abilities. Knowledge of Butterfly Valves and industry standards ASME, API, and ISO is highly desirable.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Knowledge of metallurgy to understand and comply with customer requirements
Perform 3D modeling of valves, valve components, tools, accessories, and other valve related devices; develop product detail drawings
Preparing bills-of-materials to use in Product Data Management (PDM) and ERP systems
Prepare engineering release notices
Provide accurate drawings, bills of materials, work instructions, and other documents.
Participate in design teams with engineers and representatives of other company functions
Assist in design validations
Interface with manufacturing and other engineering sites as required completing design work.
Provide application information to Sales and customers, answer technical questions
Review and interpret customer and industry specifications, integrate specifications and requirements into valve design packages
Assist in providing technical support to manufacturing, disposition of non-conforming materials and assemblies
Interface with and support Service in product performance evaluations

Qualifications and Core Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
Education: B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering
Candidate must have excellent verbal and writing communication skills
Strong technical writing skills
Basic knowledge of working with Product Data Management (PDM)
Proficient in the use of 3-D modeling program (SolidWorks preferred), Microsoft Word, Excel
Knowledge of engineering drawing GD&T (ANSI Y14.5).
Ability to work with general supervision, close supervision not required
Ability to self-organize, plan and report activities
Working knowledge of design and piping codes: ASME VIII, ASME B31.3, ASME B16.34, NACE MR0175 & MR0103
