Sherman Associates is currently seeking a Design Assistant to join our Marketing team! The Design Assistant is a critical member of the marketing team supporting all marketing communications efforts related to corporate communications, property, retail, and hospitality marketing. The primary function is to conceptualize and execute design ideas based on the scope of work and feedback from the team in both a print and digital design space.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Planning, creating, and producing graphics and designs for marketing collateral.
- Follow an established brand guide to execute a conceptualized design project.
- Create designed templates for property email blasts.
- Assist in design of content for social media.
- Assist in design vision of property website development.
- Provide design support for presentations, brochures, flyers, events, and signage.
- Preparing materials and files for print production.
- Reviewing current trends in the industry and updating existing portfolio designs accordingly.
- Assist in all promotion efforts related to property, corporate, retail, and hospitality marketing.
- Presenting design concepts to Manager and collaborating with them on final direction.
- Measures and evaluates the results of projects to include recommendations for improvements.
- Assists with the design of components and graphics for the company website and related technology.
- Special projects or other duties as assigned.
- Other tasks & duties as assigned based on business need.
Required Experience:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Entry level design experience.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently; to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented, with strong organizational, problem-solving and administrative skills.
- Willing to learn and be open to suggestions/ideas to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Committed to providing superior work product.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to exercise judgment and suggest creative approaches to new issues.
- Possesses initiative and thrives in a fast-paced work environment.
- Is team-oriented and flexible in assuming new responsibilities as they arise.
- Proficient in Adobe Suite, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This job operates in a professional office environment.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- Exposed to ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment found in a typical office environment; quiet to moderate noise level.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
- Occasionally required to walk; sit; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop; talk and hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
