Prestige dental office looking for an amazing and motivated Dental Hygienist to join our team! Our privately owned dental practice is a PPO and FFS office right in the heart of El Segundo, minutes away from the beach! We are looking for the needle in the hay stack hygienist who is customer service driven! We offer competitive pay! The candidate must have at least 1 year of experience as a Dental Hygienist, have a comprehensive knowledge of dental terminology and dental procedures, should understand productive hygiene scheduling and recall efficiency. This candidate must have amazing customer service and bedside manners! Depending on the applicant, new grads may be considered!

Responsibilities

• Promotes dental health by completing dental prophylaxis, providing oral cancer screening and radiographic studies, charting conditions of decay and disease, and performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act
• Prepares treatment room for patient by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols
• Prepares patient for dental hygiene treatment by welcoming, soothing, seating, and draping patients
• Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests
• Maintains instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment by sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting instruments
• Selects materials and equipment for dental hygiene visits by evaluating patients' oral health
• Completes dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and from beneath gum margins
• Detects disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession, and exposing and developing radiographic studies
• Arrests dental decay by applying fluorides and other cavity-preventing agents

Qualifications

• A degree or certificate in hygiene from an accredited program and a valid state license
• A valid X-ray license
• Excellent communication skills and service-oriented attitude
• A lifelong commitment to excellence
• Laser Certified (Not required but preferred)
