Dental Front Office Receptionist Job at Four Oaks Dental
We are looking to hire an experienced Dental Receptionist with a positive attitude and a bubbly personality who puts the needs of the patient first!! Hours are Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday's 8am-1pm.
Reception Management
- Open and close dental office according to office protocol
- Check the daily schedule for accuracy and provide schedule to dental team as appropriate
- Answer and respond to telephone calls with professionalism * Review supplies for reception and provide order to business manager
- Maintain petty cash Patient Management
- Maintain a professional reception area/office (organize patient education materials and magazines, straighten up the facility, oversee cleaning service schedule and duties, etc.)
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors to the practice
- Check in patients according to office protocol, verifying and updating health information
- Providing and documenting HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices according to office policies and procedures
- Manage recall and inactive patient system
- Confirm upcoming appointments
- Schedule patients for efficient use of doctor and staff time
- Check patient back up list to try to fill in cancellation and no-show appointment times
- Collect payment from patients at time of treatment
- Schedule follow-up appointments as directed Records Management
- Gather and accurately record dental, medical and insurance information from patients
- Securely store and handle records in compliance with legal requirements, including HIPAA regulations
- Manage and update patient information via electronic health record system
- Arrange patient information (route slips, insurance verification) for the next day’s appointments
- Fulfill required consent forms for patient Insurance
- Keep patients’ insurance information up to date
- Submit treatment plans for predetermination of benefits * Prepare claim forms for patients with dental insurance
- Organize supporting materials for claim forms, such as radiographs or written narratives * Submit claim forms from office to dental benefits plans * Assist in the resolution of problems with third-party payers Billing * Contact patients with accounts overdue
- Post checks received each day
Communications * Sort, organize and distribute mail: * New patient and referral thank you notes * Other correspondence as directed by the dentist
- Run patient recall cards at the beginning of every month
- Send patient 1 year recall letter at the beginning of every month Customer Service
- Explain treatment plans to patients, fulfill all required consent form and explain cost estimates to patient
- Follow up with non-responsive patients to provide further information as necessary Office Participation
- Be an active participant in team meetings
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the dentist
Education/Experience Requirements: * High school diploma or equivalent * 2 years’ office experience required * Working knowledge of computers for word processing, scheduling, insurance claims processing and records management. Dentrix knowledge preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
