Demolition & Asbestos Removal Inc., is a full service environmental abatement and selective demolition company. Our Wilmington Division is accepting applications for skilled Demolition/Abatement Environmental Workers. Environmental accreditation and experience a plus.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Be an essential team member with a well-established and stable Company offering 40+ hours weekly and benefits. The Demolition / Abatement Worker performs manual labor to aid in demolition and deconstruction of buildings. The worker also learns to perform semi-skilled work to remove asbestos, mold and lead based paint from ceilings, walls, beams, boilers, piping and other structures, following waste handling guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Environmental Division

• Assist in demolition and deconstruction activities of buildings
• Remove building materials laden with asbestos, mold or lead paint from surfaces, using various tools.
• Build enclosures for environmental work.
• Clean and appropriately packages waste for disposal.
• Clean and maintains tools, and equipment.
• Perform daily equipment checks.
• Perform work safely in accordance with departmental safety procedures and operates equipment safely.
• Report any unsafe work condition or practice to supervisor.
• Performs other related and non-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Training and continuing education may be provided.

Work Experience:

• Prior work experience in an industrial/mechanical or asbestos, mold or lead based paint abatement / removal setting highly desirable but not required.
• Must have a good work ethic and be dependable.
• Must be available to work various hours.
• Willing to travel with hotel and per diem available.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Heavy physical effort required including pulling and lifting or moving heavy weight material with frequent lifting or moving materials or equipment (50+ pounds). Ability to stand and climb on ladders, roofs and uneven / unstable surfaces. Work is performed primarily inside of commercial and industrial building areas as well as an outside environment.

Job Requirements:

• Pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and physical exam.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States (Verified through E-Verify)
• Able to wear full and half face respirator
• Able to work on Military Installation
