We have an immediate need for an experienced Delivery Dispatcher to join our team in a furniture and mattress home delivery warehouse office. We are a leading national final mile company providing home delivery and logistics solutions for world-class retailers such as Living Spaces, Mor Furniture for Less, Macy's, La-Z-Boy, Ashley HomeStore and others.

This energetic person will perform a variety of jobs, including communicating with delivery drivers, processing delivery paperwork and orders, assisting with the maintenance of computer billing files, and helping solve delivery customer problems. Local delivery experience and in-depth knowledge of Austin, TX area geography and traffic patterns are a big plus. Basic computer skills, people skills, a professional appearance, and a strong work ethic are all required. Experienced Spanish speaking dispatchers are encouraged to apply. Must be able to work weekends and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls from drivers, customers, clients and then record/relay significant information
• Assisting with morning load out and afternoon check-in operations in the warehouse.

• Maintain electronic billing records used to prepare invoices
• Address problems and requests by transmitting information or providing solutions
• Prioritize calls according to urgency and importance
• Use a phone or computer to review and record information.
• Monitor the route and status of field units to coordinate efficient delivery performance.
• Provide field units with information about orders, traffic, obstacles and requirements
• Enter data in computer system and maintain logs and records of calls, activities, and other information

Skills

• Proven experience as dispatcher or relevant position
• Tech-savvy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel experience required)
• Proficient in English (oral and written)
• Spanish Speaking is a Big Plus
• Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
• Active listener with excellent communication skills
• Sound judgment and critical thinking

The most qualified candidates will have experience in a home delivery or transportation operation office. Must be people-oriented and able to communicate well by phone with drivers and customers. Saturday shifts will be required as part of the regular schedule.
