Global Diving & Salvage, Inc. (Global) is the largest diving contractor on the West Coast, based out of Seattle, WA, a leading provider of offshore support services, marine construction, and infrastructure support services in the United States and an internationally recognized casualty responder. Our experience enables us to adapt quickly to unique problems and resolve potentially costly situations. In addition, we have the proven ability to customize systems and management teams for individual projects.

We are accepting applications for Marine Environmental Deckhand. The successful candidate must have prior construction or maritime experience. This person will report to the company’s PNW Environmental Operations Manager.


Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Small vessel operation
  • Skilled equipment operations including but not limited to forklift, pump operations, hand tools (Hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, and gas-powered)
  • Oil Spill response
  • Splices and repairs cables and ropes using hand tools
  • Perform maintenance and construction tasks as required
  • Handle mooring lines and rigging to launch or dock the boat
  • Assist with the towing, deploying, and stowing of oil containment boom
  • Participate in meetings, training, drills, and safety audits as required by USCG & company policy
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Drive company vehicles as needed


Requirements:

  • All employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must have a valid driver's license and valid car insurance, and submit a driving record for the past three years
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a TWIC Card
  • Ability to lift from floor to waist, push and pull up to 50lbs occasionally up to 12 times per shift
  • Ability to work any day of the week, both night and day Available for after-hour emergency response
  • 24-hour and 7-day-a-week availability based on project or emergency response needs
  • Must be able to withstand the following for up to 12 hours per day in all weather conditions (Sun, Rain, Sleet, and Snow): stand, sit, walk, push, pull, squat, crouch, bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, repetitive reaching, and repetitive band use.


Typical Schedule for Full-Time Employees:

  • This work requires someone to be available on a variable basis
  • The employee must be available for a large percentage of available work and attentive to communications for job scheduling changes.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • First/Aid CPR
  • HAZWOPER
  • Current Passport
  • Boaters Card (Washington state boater’s card)
