Here is what you can expect in this role:
- $13.00/hr
- Shift: 1 Full-time Days and 1 Part-Time Night
- Perform all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Custodial Department.
- Performs routine cleaning of administrative offices, lobbies, lounges, corridors, elevators, and stairways in a clean, neat and sanitary manner.
- Cleans and dust furniture, exhibit cases, fixtures, windows, doors, trim, and related furnishings; moves furniture, supplies and miscellaneous as directed.
- Collects both recyclable and non-recyclable waste and replaces trash cans liners.
- Telephones should be periodically cleaned using germicidal and cleaner disinfectants.
- Full vacuuming will be required in traffic areas and any visible debris on carpets.
- Clean light switches, door, and walls, tops of modular furniture and blinds.
- Clean and/or polish tables, benches and chairs.
- Remove cobwebs.
- Takes trash to assigned areas.
- Locks and unlocks doors and windows to offices and other rooms as necessary.
- Turns off light when rooms are unoccupied.
- Maintains confidentiality according to policy.
- Reports to his supervisor safety hazards as appropriate.
- Follows all infection control l practices including hand washing techniques.
- Perform work as directed.
- Cleaning carts will not be left unattended.
- Custodial closets will remain locked at all times.
- Keeps hallways and pathways clear of carts, cleaning equipment, and tools.
- Once the Custodian has completed the assigned task must report to his Supervisor to check if there are any other tasks that need to be completed.
- At the end of the shift, equipment must be left clean and ready to use including cleaning materials.
- The Custodian cannot leave the Job Site until his area is checked by a Supervisor.
- The Custodian must be able to work weekends, holidays and any shift that is assigned according to account needs.
- The Custodian will be also responsible when scheduled to do the conversion side of the events as needed base on account needs. This consists of moving chairs, tables, etc.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma is preferred. One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Apply common sense understanding to follow instructions that were provided.
- Must be able to communicate and understand English.
TYPES OF CHEMICALS USED:
In General, we use Green Products. In this account, you will be using Grout cleaners, deodorizers, Germicidal, glass cleaners, stain removers and stainless steel polish oils.

- Bends 30 to 50 times between a 4 to 12 hours shift.
- Carries 10 to 20 times while carrying 5 to 15 pounds.
- Climbs 3 times during the shift.
- Kneels 25 to 50 times while carrying 1 to 10 pounds during the shift.
- Pulls and Pushes 5 to 10 times while carrying 5 to 50 pounds.
- Reaches overhead 1 to 5 times while carrying 1 to 10 pounds.
- Squats 25 to 50 times while carrying 5 to 10 pounds.
- Stands 95% of the time while carrying 1 to 50 pounds during the shift
- Twists 20% of the times while carrying 1 to 10 pounds during the shift.
- Walks approximately between 3 to 5 miles.
- Grasps 75% of the time while carrying 1 to 10 pounds during the shift.
- Lifts floor to waist 25 to 25 times while carrying 1 to 10 pounds.
