About this position:

Reporting to the Data Science Lead, the Data Scientist will be a key member of Aptiv Connected Services’ Data Science team. The position supports the Product Development, Product Management, and Customer Success teams by using advanced analytics, modeling, and machine learning techniques to build and deploy models and other data products that generate business insights for our customers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work as part of centralized Data Science function, engaging and interacting with multiple functional areas within the organization.
• Process, manipulate, explore, and generate insights from large engineering and operational data sets across a range of platforms to uncover trends, generate insights, identify anomalies, and train models.
• Work in concert with product leadership and subject matter experts to identify and develop analytics solutions to enhance our product offerings and solve business problems.
• Support the engineering and product teams to productionize and deploy scalable models and analytic solutions within the framework of Aptiv’s cloud and edge platform.
• Support the engineering and product teams to develop and productionize dashboards and data visualizations that are underpinned by Aptiv’s modelling and analytics platform.
• Enable stakeholders to make key decisions with accurate data analysis and presentations of key findings.
• Stay abreast of data science and analytics trends.

Minimum Requirements:

• University degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or similar field.
• Experience using Python and data science related libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, seaborn, StatsModels, Dask, PySpark, Keras, and TensorFlow.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases and knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB).
• Experience working in cloud environment with platforms and frameworks such as AWS, Google BigQuery, Azure Data Lake Analytics, Spark, Kafka or similar.
• Experience developing and deploying predictive models and machine learning algorithms into production environments is desired.
• Data engineering experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of and/or experience in the automotive engineering industry is a plus but not required.
• Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills.
