This position is part of the Membership Department and has two main responsibilities. First, it is part of the team who provide top quality customer service to Society members and customers by fulfilling membership, education and other orders and requests. The team answers incoming calls, emails and faxes. Second, it assists with our Corporate Access Program (CAP) including administrative duties and calling prospective CAP clients to assist with growing the number of subcribers in the program.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide superior service and accurately process member and customer requests for event registrations and information, membership applications, payments, refunds, member updates, explanation of member benefits and resources, etc.
  • Assist callers with technical assistance with accessing our website, database, or virtual programs.
  • Assist with data integrity checks and other database related projects.
  • Assist with the Corporate Access Program (CAP) including assistance to subscribers via phone and email, updating reports, tracking utilization of program benefits and services, database management, and overall administrative support. Assist with staffing on-site CAP training, as needed.
  • Make outgoing emails to corporate finance professionals to assist with selling the CAP.
  • Keep management informed about service issues related to member/customer situations, processing, or technology-related matters.
  • Maintain and update database including member and customer records, identify and merge duplicate records. Assist with finding “lost” members. Resolve inconsistencies in system data elements such as demographics, membership types, etc.
  • Process ethics exam orders and maintain exam inventory.
  • Participate in database/system upgrade testing and training and identify, document,database-related and communicate system issues and solutions as they become apparent.
  • Handle special projects and perform other duties as assigned, including recruitment and retention mailings.

Requirements:

  • Minimum five years experience in customer service
  • Experience with database management systems, a plus
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Sales experience a plus
  • Have a valid driver’s license
