Reports To: Facilities Manager
General Summary: Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, is responsible for providing a variety of janitorial services for Assumption Catholic School.

General Summary: Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, is responsible for providing a variety of janitorial services for Assumption Catholic School.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports the School's spiritual and pastoral mission
- Follows a cleaning schedule to assure the School buildings are cleaned and maintained in an orderly fashion
- Performs general custodial duties to include cleaning and light maintenance of the School facilities.
- Performs scheduled monthly, semi-annual, or annual janitorial duties, i.e., floor waxing, painting, window washing, carpet cleaning, etc. as directed and in accordance with the School's custodial and maintenance schedule
- Provides set-up and cleaning of facilities for all activities and events as directed
- Cleans equipment, including kitchen, restrooms and other facilities; recommends and request replacement of equipment and notifies maintenance of issues as necessary
- Maintains a supply of cleaning supplies and equipment in all maintenance closets; properly account for materials and equipment
- Maintains security of buildings, equipment, and tools
- Complies with safety regulations as required; maintain a safe working environment
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- High school graduate or equivalent education
- Must have a working knowledge of and a strong commitment to the mission of the Diocese and Catholic Church
- Excellent communications skills, verbal and written; excellent human relations and interpersonal skills
- Exercise courtesy to fellow employees, students, and the general public
- Must be a self-starter; well organized; perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work with a sense of urgency
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; punctuality is a must at all times; ability to travel locally as required; weekend and overtime work may be required
- Professional bearing; clean and neat personal appearance
- Be able to read directions and label safety warnings. Must be safety-conscious
- A thorough knowledge of the use of the tools and equipment associated with custodial work and general maintenance.
- Ability to successfully pass a background, criminal history check
- Possess a valid Florida driver’s license
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, vendors, employees, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
