    Job Title: CTE Specialist, Automotive
    Kent Career Tech Center

    To assist in providing a well-organized and smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the adapted instructional program and the available resource material.

    Essential Job Qualifications Required:
    • Must have graduated from high school (Associates Degree preferred).
    • Must have had a minimum of two (2) years (4,000 hours) of recent work experience in the Automotive Repair industry.
    • Possess a working knowledge and skills in the operation and maintenance of Automotive Vehicles.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, local employer representatives, and teachers.
    • Must have demonstrated ability to work with culturally diverse student populations including special population students (economic and academic disadvantaged, special education, and Limited English Proficient students).
    • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to details, organize, prioritize, and work independently, as well as schedule and produce work in a timely manner.
    Key Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Assists in providing specialized instruction in the various aspects of Career Technical Education (CTE).
    • Assists students on a one-to-one or small group basis as directed by the CTE Instructor.
    • Uses remedial and tutorial techniques, as directed, to assist students to gain the most from their instruction.
    • Assists in maintaining discipline, aiding individual students, and assisting the CTE Instructor to have a greater influence on the learning process.
    • Supplements the instructor’s demonstration of the safe and proper use of the program’s tools, equipment, and machinery with students needing additional assistance.
    • Assists the instructor in maintaining a safe learning environment and monitors student behavior to maximize learning in the lab, on the work site, and during field trips.
    • Provides supplementary services to at-risk students such as reading tests and assignments, notetaking, and the preparation of study guides.
    • Assists in the setup and operation of equipment used in the teaching process.
    • Assists students with work assignments that may require strenuous physical exertion.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by the Administration.
    • Attends seminars/conferences to enhance training skills and professional development.

    Salary: Per CTES Master Agreement, commensurate with education and experience
