Position Summary:*
This position performs crisis coordination and assistance for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities that are at risk of or experiencing behavioral, mental or physical health crises. This position involves person centered planning, development, and implementation of individualized crisis intervention plans. The CIS trains and provides education, and collaborates with Local Intellectual Developmental Disability Authority (LIDDA) staff, Transition Support Team members, members of Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT), law enforcement and all private providers in LIDDA’s catchment area, as appropriate, to prevent and manage crises. Works with interdisciplinary teams to set up long-term services and supports in the appropriate setting, and to give necessary relief in the interim, such as facilitating crisis respite through an appropriate provider, in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of Texoma Community Center. Operates under trauma-informed and recovery-oriented models of care which align with CCBHC standards.
M-F 8-5 (no on-call), 17/hour + incentive

Education and/or Experience:*
- Bachelor’s degree in social services field that meet the requirements of a QIDP with consultation from a licensed clinician
- Knowledge of services and programs serving individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- At least two years of experience working with individuals with IDD who have mental health and behavior support needs or linking people with IDD to mental health supports, in addition to the one year of required experience of a qualified intellectual disability professional.
Certificates, Licensure, Registrations:
- Current driver’s license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to speak a second language relevant to population served preferred
- Must be self-motivated, organized and detail oriented
Knowledge of Office Suite
- Consistently practices Trauma-informed Model of Care, understands and considers the pervasive nature of trauma.
- The knowledge of cultural differences and ability to work with individuals from different cultural backgrounds.
